Can you Believe it!
My main man Bob has been taken in by the man. Click here to see what I'm talking about.
I hope that the link is incorrect but I read the article as at least 10 years and some god-awful amount of money.
I'm not going to say much about this other than it's a damn shame you can that you could kill someone and spend less time in Prison than Bob is gone get for taking a damn knife on a plane.
Now no one really has enough "facts" on this but hard time is hard time and I don't care what anyone tells you I never want to learn the difference between a crap-load and a butt-load if you know what I'm saying.

Lessons learned. I've been in the "computer business" for a long time and it never ceases to amaze me when I totally botch something simple. Case in point:
I went to see on my few Residential Clients and on my recommendation she purchased a Flat Panel monitor.
Problem 1 she's running an upgraded copy of Windows 98 on a machine that barely deserves to run Windows 95.
Problem 2 her graphics card isn't capable of displaying the true depth of scope of her newer LCD Flat Panel monitor.
Problem 3 her computer is so OLD that I can't find a part brand new to put in it.
Problem 4 the AGP spec has gone through so many revisions and drafts that it's nearly impossible to decipher the proper card for her model.
Problem 5 the Freaking Gateway website is non -technical user friendly that I can't answer any of the tough questions like what pin count, and volt rating is the AGP slot on her existing motherboard.
Before I ran dead into Problems 4 and 5 I suggested that my client also purchase a newer graphics card to better enable her new LCD experience (hence problems 4 and 5). We ordered a card for her and after it came in we discovered that we couldn't even get it to fit in. Check out this link for the details.
Now I've tried two different AGP cards and I can't get either one to work yet.. Aaarrrgghh!
I also paid the shipping to RMA the part she bought from Office Depot.
I'm hoping to have this problem resolved before the weekend is out. I'm probably going to end up forgoing her AGP slot and looking into a PCI card. She doesn't do any graphic heavy lifting other than printing out her AOL email.

On another note I will be revamping my website soon. I'm trashing the current site that I built with 1and1's website creator and I think I'm going to be putting in a wordpress blog engine to run the whole site. wordpress is an open source AMP project (A=Apache, M=MySQL, and P=PHP). This should accomplish two(x2) goals.

I finally got in my Ubuntu CD's in.
I love Linux (but I kinda suck at it sometimes) and I love Debian more than any other distro so far. Of all the Debian distro's that are out there two rock the most.
I think I'm going to convert an older laptop I have laying around over to Ubuntu and see how it flies.
I still have a Red Hat Enterprise Linux workstation under my desk but I haven't had the time to give it the full conversion go for work (I'm a little scared to tell the truth).
I have way too many projects on my plate right now to go through the headache of no Windows at all for work.
I have two new trainees starting on Monday to put through helpdesk bootcamp so I'm sure I'll blog some more about that later.
That's it for now.

- Goal 1 I get to learn more about the whole website building experience.
- Goal 2 I get to redo the damn thing!
- Goal 3 I get maintain it like a blog (I love CMS shit).
- Goal 4 I get to try to stay more in tune with my new AMOS philosophy. Accecpt More Open Source.
