Spring Break Sleepovers
Ah Spring Break!
Spring, for most people, is an great time of year. The winter chill begins to withdraw, you begin to enjoy the warmth the sun brings, your grass turns green again (or kind of green with pretty shades of weeds in my case), and a host of other things.
In my case, I tend to see the negative. I start to use my Air Conditioner again (more electricity), I have to start mowing again, My allergies flare up, and my kids need more things to do that involve spending money on outdoor activities.
In the spirit of being less frumpy I've allowed my daughter to have two friends stay the night tonight. This is very untypical for me since it's a work night but I thought I'd give it a shot since she got good grades, sleepovers are kind of rare, and she doesn't have a lot of good wholesome friends that I approve of.
Today she was actually outside playing with new people and seems to have made a new friend or two. Since she asked if this "new" friend could stay the night I thought I'd approve to let her get some social practice in friendship making. Regrettably, I think her social skills aren't as sharp as I'd like them to be so this is a good chance for her to sharpen those knives before she gets into big, bad world of nasty little Junior High kids.
I'll probably get very little sleep tonight but oh well, the things we do for our kids.
Work Update:
My new trainees have "hit the floor" and from here on out it's probably all On the Job Training for them. They are about a week shy of where I'd normally feel comfortable on training but oh well.
We'll see how they do now. Only time will tell.
That's it for now.
