Full Circle Jobwise

Wow.

I'm back on the helpdesk again as their new Trainer/Mentor/Dude

It's kind of like finding an old pair of shoes that you put away and then you discover them again and realize that they are pretty comfortable and you kind of like the way they feel and wonder why you ever took them off.

Let's see how this pans out.

Life update:
I've been cruising the online dating scene and I guess you can't really call it dating if you haven't actually met anyone in person yet but it's kind of weird and fun at the same time.

I guess it's almost like cruising the bar/dance club scene like you did in your twenties but this time it's done from afar, anonymously, and without any sense of rejection and no rush. So in some ways its actually cooler than burning up gas and forking over dough for the door charge. Plus you don't smell like smoke and licquor when you get home.

To date i've checked out a number of dating sites like the ones you see advertised on TV and the ones you get in banner popups on the internet and they each have their pros and cons. I'll probably do a more comprehensive review of dating sites in a future post but here is the quick skinny for you blogger nerds that read my stuff and have wondered about online dating before.

  • If your like me and don't have a digital camera get one. You really need to include photos in your profiles so people can check you out
  • Then find a way to take a picture of yourself. Kind of hard to do really.
  • The hardest part I've found so far is to "advertise" your self properly. It's like writing your own job performance review but way harder.
  • There are weird people out there. I mean really weird.
  • Believe it or not lots of hot women will hit on you because your parents are right for every girl out there that isnt in to you there are lots that are into your type whatever that type may be.
  • Read the profiles of other people that share your gender to get a feel for the competitiion.
  • You might want to find a new dating email so that you don't accidentally expose too much info about yourself.
  • Dating sites cost money! The average price I've run into is around 20 to 80 bucks to get started with a full blown account. (good news is that you dont have to spend any money unless you actually want to talk to someone) Drive by clicks are free and most give free photo views.
  • When they hot chicks hit on you will need to fork over some dough.
  • If you try to send someone your email address the dating systems servers will strip the address@domain.com so you have get all sneaky, sneaky like eemail me like this hotguy [at] domain [dot] commm (figure it out)

Of all the dating sites i've checked I actually like the one at www.okcupid.com the most.

I'll update the faithful with more info later.

With the new job change and I'll I'm sure I'll have some more stories to share later.

To my recently unhired friends at my job I'm sorry dude that sucks, but you'll get a good job somewhere else I hope.

To my friend with the tragic accident you are in my prayers and I will come visit you soon. Godspeed on your wife's recovery.
